Practical information
Participants
Summer School participants should be regional politicians or officers working in regional administration with specific responsibility in relation to youth topics.
Youth Summer School participants should be aged between 18 and 26 years (born between 27/08/84 and 23/08/93) and should be active in regional youth bodies, e.g. youth councils, political parties etc. To participate in the AER Youth Summer School, youth participants must be nominated by their regional authority. The regional authority will therefore pay the registration fee on behalf of the Youth Summer School participant. Regions are invited to register 2 young people. Exceeding number of registrations will be confirmed after the close of registrations according to availabilities.
Language
Please note that the working language for the AER Summerschool Flevoland 2011 will be English. During the opening session on Tuesday translation in French will be available.
Currency
The currency in The Netherlands is Euros.
Climate
During Summertime, the temperature in The Netherlands is around 18 to 23 degrees C. August is usually a month with a lot of sunshine. However, the weather can also be changeable with short periods of rainfall.

Tourist information
Handouts with maps and all kind of tourist information will be handed out on the day of arrival.
Travel arrangements
Direct trains will take you to Almere Central Station. A shuttle bus will be available between the railway station and the hotel on Monday, 22nd August from 9 am till 9 pm. Further information will be available at the info-point in the hotel.

The registration fee includes:
- Accommodation on a 5-night basis (Monday, August 22. – Saturday, August 27.) Summer School participants have a single room, Youth Summer School participants are supposed to share rooms
- Meals: Breakfast Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Lunch Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Dinner Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Transfers to and from the hotel on Monday and Friday and on Tuesday and Wednesday to and from the location of the workshops
- Working documents
- Study visits and excursions
Bank charges and expenses are not included in the registration fee and are to be covered by the region.
Extra nights are to be paid directly to the hotel by the participant. A single room including breakfast costs € 102,50 and a double room including breakfast costs € 115,-.

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
Venue
The plenary sessions on Tuesday and Friday take place in the Van der Valk hotel. The venue of the workshops on Wednesday and Thursday is the WTC Carlton, also in Almere.
Waiver of responsibility
Please note that each participant together with the nominating region is responsible for Insurance during the Summer School. The AER and the host region Province of Flevoland bear no responsibility for injury, loss or damage to person or property during the event.
